HistoryTales collects minimal information from visitors. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We use standard analytics to understand which guides are useful and which need improvement. That’s essentially it.
What we collect

- Standard web server logs (IP address, browser, referring URL, page requested, timestamp)
- Anonymized analytics data (pages visited, time on page, country-level location)
- Cookies set by WordPress and our caching layer for basic site functionality
Information you provide
- Email address (if you contact us via the address on our Contact page — used only to reply to you)
- Comments (if our theme has commenting enabled) — your name, email, and comment text become public alongside the comment
Third-party services
When you click an affiliate link on HistoryTales, you are redirected to a third party (most commonly Amazon). Those third parties have their own privacy policies that govern any data they collect about your visit. We do not control or have access to that data beyond aggregated commission reports.
This site may also load resources from common content delivery networks (Google Fonts, jsDelivr, etc.). Those services collect standard web-server data subject to their own privacy policies.
Cookies
We use cookies for basic site functionality (page caching, remembering your light/dark mode preference if applicable). We do not use cookies for cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally.
